Hi Guys!

Hope your 4th of July celebrations were a blast! (Pun intended 😀)

Now that we're past the most exciting holiday of the year, in my opinion. I wanted to share something very close to my heart and that is my deepest regards for our nations Veterans.

No, it's not typically a subject we think about on the 4th of July, usually its fireworks and spending time with family and friends, but truth be told. We would not have anything to celebrate without our Veterans!!

You see, a little while ago - like 200 years -

[Yes, that is a "little while ago" in the realm of historical events.]

Our country was not the place it is today.

Historical Facts:

Our Nation had just started to pull away from being governed by the Britsh monarchy and in order to be free, we had to fight for that freedom. On July 4th 1776 the Continental Congress formally adopted the Declaration of Independence, mostly written by Thomas Jefferson, but the 4th of July wasn't fully celebrated untill after the War of 1812.

In 1870 the U.S. Congress made July 4th officially a Federal holiday and moving towards present day, in 1941 the law was amended, making it a paid holiday. (Which again was just after World War 1 and going into World War 2)

Thankfulness:

Those brave men and women sacrificed their lives for a greater purpose. The gift of selfless courage and putting others above ones's self continues to this day.

It's a blessing and an honor to be looked after, cared for by total strangers. Such acts of service, most people generally would never give a second thought about accept on certain days of the year.

I'm on a mission to change awareness, but I can't do it alone:

Have you Thanked a Veteran yet?

(Promise, it's one of the best feelings ever!!)

Have you taken mental inventory of just how many wonderful men and women that have served that are part of your life on a daily basis and never even realize it?

Maybe it's the cashier at the grocery store?

Maybe it's a loved one?

Maybe it's even your family Dr.?

Looks can be deceiving. Yet, they are all around us, Like fireflys on a hot summer night.

Our community's are the biggest resources to pay it forward for those who have served and there is a huge gap in responsibility.

Its should not be left solely to the military entities to continually care for those who have served prior, as they have enough responsibility caring for active military members.

The responsibility should be us, the civilians, to properly care for those who have served that continue to look out for the best interests of being:

"One Nation, Under God, Indivisable with Liberty and Justice for All." As our Pledge of Allegence states.

[Some of you may have never heard it, highly recommend it, if you are an American Citizen.]

How can we change that?

Firstly, its about deciding what you believe in and what you stand for as an individual. Each of us has our own beliefs, challenges and lenses in which we navigate human existence.

Very best part is that YOU can make a difference!! Even just these 2 words: "Thank You." I encourage you, share your appreciation today. Check out how we strongly supports our local Veterans through our Vases for Veterans Arrangments!

Lastly:

In the famous words of Norman Schwarzkophf Jr.

United States Army General.

Years of service: 1956-1981

"The truth of the matter is that you always know the right thing to do. The hard part is doing it."

Have an amazing week, Let's do it!
